David Grover writes, performs and records music for children and adults. He began playing clarinet at age 8 and quickly moved to guitar, which he taught himself to play by the age of eleven.

After many years in both the rock and roll and classical music worlds, David formed "Shenandoah", an acoustic country-rock band that joined singer-storyteller Arlo Guthrie in 1975.

From 1975 to 1981 David was Guthrie's lead guitarist and arranger, traveling throughout all 50 states and around the world. In this medium he played with such musical greats as John Denver, Willie Nelson, Richie Havens, Country Joe MacDonald and Pete Seeger. David also arranged and performed on the classic children's album "Grow Big" with the entire Guthrie family.

In 1981, David teamed up with veteran songwriter Aaron Schroeder (whose credits include five #1 hits for Elvis Presley and songs recorded by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Tony Bennett). Their first song, "If I Could Only Touch Your Life" was recorded by Arlo Guthrie on Warner Bros. Records and in 1984 became the title song of David's album released on his own Big Bear label. The songs of Grover and Schroeder have been recorded by Barry White, Tramayne Hawkins (whose version of "We're All in The Same Boat" was nominated for a Dove Award for Best Traditional Gospel Song of the Year in 1988), and the Stefan Sisters. In 1986 they wrote the score for the film and TV series "Lucky Luke" starring Terrance Hill.

In 1984, through his daughter, David became involved in writing and performing children's music. In 1989 he created "Grover's Corner", a PBS television show teaching children about music. This show led to the 1991 PBS special "Chanukah at Grover's Corner", a show whose aim is to teach children of all faiths about the festival of Chanukah. Both PBS shows have received many honors and awards, including a Gabriel Award from the National Association of Catholic Broadcasters, an Iris Award, and an Emmy nomination for Best Children and Youth Special.

In 1994 David received an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities from North Adams State College in North Adams, Massachusetts. In 1995 Big Bear Music, in conjunction with Red Lion Records, released the long-awaited "Live at the Red Lion", a collection of original and most-requested songs from that venue. Winter of '95 saw the release of both a new children's video and an album of Christmas songs with The Big Bear Band. Most recently, David has recorded a lullaby album (all released on The Big Bear Music Label).
